According to the national standard of Iran No. 14254
Completion of the project, study on energy consumption and the energy label of the non-residential (office) buildings
Although INSO 14253 and 14254 were adopted in 2011, so far there has been no opportunity for their implementation in residential and non-residential buildings. Agreement No. 122-98 /PB dated 22 Jun. 2019 between EEEB project and Standard Research Institute, with the supervision of the Iranian National Standard Organization, entitled "STUDY AND ANALYSIS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF 50 NON-RESIDENTIAL (OFFICIAL) BUILDINGS AND DETERMINATION OF THEIR ENERGY LABEL ACCORDING TO NATIONAL IRANIAN STANDARD NO. 14254”, was a good opportunity to implement the INSO 14254 as a pilot in 50 target buildings to review its technical issues and drawbacks, assess challenges to its implementation, and provide constructive suggestions to the revision process. The project was carried out in four main stages of the study, review, energy labeling, and analysis.
For many enthusiasts, the question may be how they can develop their ideas and plans in the field of energy and environment in the building and start a business related to it. The energy startup event in buildings is based on some of the key challenges in the field of construction.
Energy is one of the main causes of environmental problems. The building sector is the largest final energy consumption share (more than 35%) compared to other sectors in Iran. There are about 25 to 27 million buildings in Iran that consume more than a third of the total final energy. Given this, it can be perceived that energy efficiency in buildings is essential.
The Project of Energy Efficiency and Environment (EEEB) hosted the members of the fifth meeting of the Project Steering Committee on Tuesday, February 4th, 2019. The project, in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology (VPST), began in August 2016.
One of the components of the Project of Energy efficiency and Environment in building (EEEB) is to implement energy efficiency measures in selected public buildings in Tehran as pilot. In this regard, the interim implementation of energy efficiency measures was delivered in two pilot buildings out of 22 buildings in the first batch of pilots.
